Useful, sourced, and finite by design.
This page explains how Daily Marbles selects and presents its daily activities. The founding version combines a reviewed evergreen library, calendar-specific material, and clearly labeled generated exercises.
Daily selection
The site uses the calendar date and a consistent selection method to choose the day’s activities. Users on the same date receive a stable daily card rather than an answer that changes during the session. The free category rotates by date; Marble Pass holders can open the full mix.
History and pop culture
Questions are written from reviewed reference material and include a source link when the answer is revealed. Sources are selected for relevance and generally favor museums, archives, public institutions, official organizations, and established reference works.
On This Day
The founding library includes curated date-specific events for the initial launch period. When a date is not represented locally, the site may request a selected historical event from Wikimedia’s public “On This Day” feed through a Netlify function. Dynamically retrieved entries are labeled with their source.
Words and languages
Vocabulary cards include a definition, example, and memory cue. Language cards present a word or phrase, a pronunciation guide, a practical meaning, and an example. Pronunciation spellings are simplified learning aids rather than formal phonetic transcriptions.
Math Minute
Math problems are generated from date-based inputs at the user’s selected level. Each problem includes multiple choices and a worked explanation. The purpose is everyday practice, not assessment or tutoring certification.
Horoscopes
Horoscope cards combine a daily reflection theme with the selected zodiac sign. They are offered solely for entertainment and personal reflection. They are not factual predictions and should not be used for medical, legal, financial, relationship, or other consequential decisions.
Movement
Movement prompts include gentle, standard, and challenging options. They are optional general-wellness activities, not medical tests or diagnoses. Users should choose a safe level, use stable surroundings, stop for pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, unusual shortness of breath, or loss of balance, and seek qualified medical guidance when appropriate.
Corrections
Facts can be misunderstood or become outdated. Send a correction with the card title and supporting source to hello@thedailymarbles.com. Material may be revised or withdrawn after review.
