Information we collect

We collect information needed to provide and protect the service, including checkout email and payment references, access expiration, official game answers and response times, streak, Marble Shield, referral and Earn-Back records, email preferences, browser/device information, referring page and a shortened cryptographic hash derived from an IP address. The owner dashboard does not display a permanent list of raw visitor IP addresses.

Optional Morning Desk profile

A player may voluntarily provide a U.S. ZIP code and birthdate. The ZIP is used to locate an approximate ZIP-area forecast and location time. The complete birthdate is processed in the browser to calculate zodiac sign and an age range. Daily Marbles stores birthday month and day, zodiac sign and age range, but not the exact birth year. These optional details do not change the official questions and may be cleared from the Morning Desk.

About Our Marbler: optional paid-member profile

After purchase, you may skip directly to play or voluntarily save a private member profile. Optional fields include a nickname, self-reported age group, birthday month and day (not birth year or exact age), up to three sports teams or a no-sports preference, music genres, favorite school subject, learning interests, reasons for joining, a dream travel destination and how you heard about DailyMarbles. Answers start blank; we do not infer or preselect your personal information. Age group is self-reported as of your last save and is not identity verification.

Saving requires a separate agreement. We store these answers in a private server-side record tied to your member account, together with an update time and the version and date of your agreement. Only authenticated access is provided. We use them for your profile and internal audience and product analysis. The owner dashboard presents grouped counts and response rates for active paid members, with live and sandbox members separated. Self-selected responses are not treated as representative of every visitor. The feature does not send these answers to advertising platforms, make them public, enroll you in email, or change your official questions, timing, score or reward eligibility. Service administrators with authorized hosting access can access stored records for support and operation.

You may edit, download or delete these optional answers from My profile. Deletion removes the answers from the active profile record and subsequent summaries; a minimal revision marker without answers prevents an older open tab from restoring deleted answers accidentally. Purchase records, gameplay, email preferences and Morning Desk settings are separate. Profile information is retained while the account is maintained unless you remove it or request deletion. Contact support for deletion if you no longer have access. This feature has no backup archive of profile answers; any provider-level backup retention follows the provider's procedures.

We do not accept these optional profile answers from a player who selects an age under 13. This profile is not a parental-consent or age-verification service; contact support about any account believed to belong to a child under 13. Birthday information does not automatically trigger an email.

How we use it

We use this data to provide access, restore purchases, administer official attempts, calculate streaks, Shields and Earn-Back eligibility, issue referral rewards, detect abuse, send messages a user requests, personalize weather and horoscope features, measure performance and improve the product. We use profile data in aggregated form for product and audience analysis.

Service providers and external content

Stripe processes checkout and payment information. Resend delivers requested emails. Netlify hosts the website, functions and centralized records. ZIP lookup and weather requests may be sent to postal-location and public weather services. The free news glance retrieves feeds on our server from Global Voices, Science Daily and NASA. Feed requests do not include your profile, email or payment details. This feature does not save a feed-content archive or cache. Selecting a story opens the original publisher website. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.

Email choices

Daily reminders, results emails and marketing messages are separate preferences. A purchase does not automatically enroll a member in marketing. Every recurring commercial email includes an unsubscribe link.

Age

Profiles, member accounts and email features are intended for players age 13 and older. Daily Marbles does not knowingly retain an optional profile for a player who identifies as under 13.

Retention and access

Purchase, gameplay, referral and reimbursement records may be retained for the pass term and a reasonable audit, tax, dispute and security period afterward. Aggregated statistics may be retained longer. Contact contact@thedailymarbles.com to request access, correction or deletion, subject to records we must retain.
